A major change to the structure of the club is coming closer, brought about by the introduction of the new equality legislation. And dropping through every member's letterbox early next week will be a summary of the current and future position together with the Committee proposal to take the Club forward and secure our financial stability.
The midnight oil has certainly been consumed by everyone involved, with just about every possible option being closely evaluated before agreeing the solution to a very difficult problem that has been brought to our doorstep by a change in legislation.
Key players in this complex scenario have been the members of the Equality Working Group and much appreciation must go to them; Stewart Lightbody, Helen Love, Colin Adam, Reg Short and Fraser Williamson.
It is absolutely critical that Members are aware of the implications and are given the opportunity to voice their thoughts and opinions. Everyone within the Club will be affected in one way or another, and this is your chance to influence the future.
Members will be asked to submit written comments on the proposals by Wednesday 1st December 2010. Email responses should be sent to; firstname.lastname@example.org. All feedback, while positive or negative, will be provide the platform for drafting the resolutions that will be submitted to a Special General Meeting to be held very early in the New Year.
